Rakshak works like a cyber crime assistance desk for everyday internet users in India. Its main job is helping you deal with cybercrime once it has happened, built around one idea, stated as a simple sequence: Prevent → Preserve → Prepare → Report → Track → Understand. Prevention is the best cure, so free tools to avoid trouble in the first place are built in too.

Reporting and case assistance

This is Rakshak's main job. When something has already gone wrong, from financial fraud to cyberbullying, Rakshak helps you preserve evidence properly, fill a guided crime-specific report instead of a generic form, and track the case afterward in plain language.

Prevention

Prevention is the best cure, so Rakshak also lets you check a suspicious link or QR code before you trust it, so a problem never starts in the first place. One quick check is free on the homepage, no account needed.

What Rakshak is not

Rakshak is a demonstration platform and does not represent an official Government of India application unless and until formally authorized and integrated.

Rakshak is not the police, a court, a bank, or a legal authority. It assists a citizen. Nothing you submit here is transmitted to a real government or banking system in this build.

How the demo integrations work

Government complaint submission, DigiLocker document access, and jurisdiction lookup are all clearly labeled demo or mock implementations in this build. Each one sits behind a defined interface so a future, formally authorized integration could be connected without changing how the rest of the app works.

How the assistant works

Ask Rakshak is a rule-based assistant, not a free-form generative model. It answers using information that already exists in the app, such as your case status or profile, and fixed reference guidance. It never invents events, evidence, suspects, dates, amounts, or claims that a government or police action has taken place.

The Just tell Rakshak what happened intake helper on the Report page works the same way, it recognizes patterns in your own words, such as an amount, a UPI ID, or a platform name, and suggests a category and pre-filled fields. It only ever surfaces details it can point back to in your description, and always asks you to review everything before anything is created.
